Our Next Meetings:

Upcoming BVWG Events

NOTE: There will be NO BVWG Meeting in July!

Instead, you can come to our sister organization's meeting the next day!

WEDNESDAY 21 JULY 2010 at 7 pm: Critique Session at the MAIN LINE WRITERS GROUP in King of Prussia!

The Main Line Writers Group meets once a month on the Third Wednesday. This is their first meeting at a new (quieter) location: MICHAEL'S RESTAURANT in KING OF PRUSSIA, PA. The address is 130 Town Center Road, King of Prussia, PA 19406. The phone is 610-265-3265. The Main Line Writers Group alternates critique sessions with guest speakers.

Since this is our first meeting in a new location, it's a great time to join us!

July's event will be a critique session. To have your work critiqued, bring in six copies (typed and double-spaced). Your work may be any genre, fiction or non-fiction. However, it may only be five pages in length (maximum). If your work is longer, just bring five consecutive pages - a short chapter, or the beginning, or the even the end.

As usual, we will start at 7 pm, but you are welcome to come early and join us for dinner at 6 pm.

The Main Line Writers Group does not yet have a website. They communicate through Meetup.com. Registration on Meetup.com is free.

TUESDAY 17 AUGUST 2010 at 7:00 pm:
Business Meeting at the BRANDYWINE VALLEY WRITERS GROUP in Marshallton, PA

At the August BVWG meeting we will be electing new members for the next season. If you are interested in putting your name forward for any of these positions, let us know:

PRESIDENT
VICE-PRESIDENT
TREASURER
PROGRAM COORDINATOR
PUBLICITY
SECRETARY

So that we don't spend the ENTIRE meeting on business, we will open with short readings by two of our published members: JIM BRESLIN and WAYNE A. "TONY" CONAWAY.

The meeting will take place at the Four Dogs Tavern in Historic Marshallton, PA. The street address is 1300 West Strasburg Road (Route 162), West Chester, PA. The restaurant's phone is (610) 692-4367. Note that we meet in the upstairs room; this facility is NOT handicap-accessible.

The meeting begins at 7 pm, but many of the members arrive at 6:00 pm to have dinner. Come join us for a great meal before the meeting!

IMPORTANT - PLEASE NOTE:

If you are coming from the direction of West Chester, there is a bridge washed out just before you get to Marshallton on Route 162 west. The best detour is to take Route 322 west (toward Downingtown) to the traffic light at Sugar Bridge Road. Turn left onto Sugar Bridge Road and it will take you into Marshallton and dead-end at Route 162, right at the Four Dogs Tavern.

FUTURE BVWG EVENTS

SEPTEMBER MEETING

Program TBA. The new program year begins with new officers - and your yearly membership dues. Please join us...and bring a check!

Please remember to join us on Facebook and add us as a friend, where our calendar is featured.

(One Final Note: If you can't find us at the Four Dogs, ask the hostess. Occasionally, they move us to the Marshalton Inn next door.)

The Brandywine Valley Writers Group was organized to help professional and amateur writers from the area achieve their goals. Regular meetings feature writing professionals and published authors who provide their industry expertise and opportunities for discussion in a relaxed atmosphere. We strive to inspire writers through our various programs and to offer friendship within our extensive membership.
